Kerry Stack graduated, cum laude, with a B.A. degree in Administrative Studies from the University of California at Riverside in 1978. During college, he developed an interest in consumer advocacy and interned at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in Los Angeles. Following graduation from college, he worked for several years in Los Angeles and Orange Counties and in Great Falls, Montana as a Claims Representative and Supervisor in the Claims Department of Travelers Insurance Company.
Later, Mr. Stack attended law school graduating, cum laude, and receiving his J.D. degree in 1986 from Western State University College of Law in Fullerton, California. While in law school, he was Managing Editor of his school’s Law Review and clerked for the Orange County District Attorney’s office. Mr. Stack is admitted to the bar of the State of California and the Central and Southern Districts of the United States District Court. He is a former member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Currently, Mr. Stack is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA).
After passing the bar, Mr. Stack was a civil litigator in Los Angeles and Riverside Counties for 3 mid-sized law firms handling and litigating serious personal injury and wrongful death cases. And, at one of these firms, he created and headed the Construction Defect Department for the Los Angeles County office of a San Francisco-based law firm handling cases for homeowners and defending cases for subcontractors and general contractors. His practice has, also, included prosecuting and defending lawsuits involving automobile liability, premises liability, products liability and general civil tort cases on behalf of both consumers and corporations. During his tenure at these firms, he has successfully tried a number of cases and received numerous favorable verdicts for his clients. Additionally, he has handled a number of appellate cases.
Prior to joining Rosner & Mansfield, Mr. Stack was General Counsel for almost 10 years with a multi-million dollar pharmaceutical company, and its subsidiaries, in San Diego. That company is involved in the national and international manufacturing, marketing and distribution of nutritional and health care products. At that company, Mr. Stack established and oversaw its Legal Department and focused on contract, labor, transactional and corporate law.
Since joining Rosner & Mansfield in early 2008, Mr. Stack has specialized in auto fraud and lemon law cases for both individuals and class actions. He has made an immediate impact by favorably resolving a number of cases for the firm’s clients. These cases have involved violations of the Consumer Legal Remedies Act (CLRA), Automobile Finance Sales Act (AFSA), Unfair Competition Law (UCL), and Song-Beverly Warranty Act (Lemon Law). Mr. Stack brings his enthusiasm and years of experience to the firm and thoroughly enjoys assisting consumers defrauded by the deceptive and fraudulent practices of some automobile dealerships.
In his spare time, Mr. Stack enjoys sports and time with his family. And, he supports local community and youth theatre programs. Presently, he is Vice-President on the board of Poway-based Broadway Bound Youth Theatre (BBYT) to which he lends his organizational talents and legal advice.
